Your narrated tour begins in Hobart at the pier where you’ll board a motorcoach and travel through the beautiful scenery of the Huon Valley known for its apple orchards.
Take in the scenic countryside, dotted with farms and bordered by hills and mountains. Orchards and vineyards abound in the fertile Huon Valley and the journey alongside the picturesque Huon River with reflections of the yachts and hills in the water is breathtaking.
As part of your tour, you’ll sit down to a refreshing morning tea or coffee served with sandwiches, miniature quiche, homemade cakes and biscuits, as well as fresh fruit at a local Huon Valley Café.
Next, venture deep into forested country to the Tahune Forest. Here you will experience the Tahune Air Walk -- a stroll in the treetop canopy, up to 120 feet above the forest floor, deep in the heart of the Tahune Forest Reserve. Observe what a wet eucalyptus forest looks and smells like and discover how truly glorious nature can be from a new perspective.
There will be time for you to purchase lunch (at your own expense) at the visitor center while you take in the magnificent scenery of this area.
The return route passes along the charming Derwent River before reaching the suburbs of Hobart and the pier.
Notes: Wear sunscreen, a hat and comfortable walking shoes. The Tahune Air Walk is 147 feet above ground level; not suitable for guests who suffer from vertigo. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair.
