Hobart is the gateway to beautiful Bruny Island, and today is your chance to explore it. Throughout the day, you'll see incredible scenery.
Transfer to Kettering to board the vehicle ferry for a scenic 15-minute crossing to Bruny Island.
From the Neck Lookout, take in the views of the narrow isthmus stretching away in graceful curves. Stroll along the deserted white-sand beach or climb the timber stairs to see stunning 360-degree views of the sea and sand. This area is also home to elusive fairy penguins that sleep in the sand dunes.
Next, delight your taste buds with lunch at a seafood restaurant. This is a rare chance to savor the clean, briny flavor of oysters straight from the sea, followed by premium fish served with a crisp salad and French fries. Enjoy a glass of local wine, artisan beer, or cider. After lunch, enjoy a nip of Tasmanian whisky or gin.
You'll also have time to shop at the Visitor Center for local arts, crafts, giftware, or perhaps a bottle of local whisky or gin.
Those wanting a light walk on the beach can stroll the shoreline at Adventure Bay; those feeling a little more energetic can wander the slightly longer trail.
