Just north of Tangalooma Island Resort are the Tangalooma wrecks. Fifteen ships were scuttled here by the Queensland Government between 1963 and 1984 to provide safe anchorage for small watercraft on the eastern side of Moreton Island. The added bonus is that, now, coral has now formed in and around the wrecks, providing a haven for more than 200 species of fish.
After a safety briefing you will take a boat ride out to the wrecks and spend some time on a guided snorkel tour that introduces you to the amazingly clear water and its many inhabitants. Watch for fish, coral, dolphins, wobbegongs and dugongs.
A snorkeling adventure is the perfect way to make your visit to Moreton Island exciting and unforgettable.
