Nature’s original day spa, the thermal mud pools, lie at the base of Sabeto Mountains. Local villagers welcome you with fresh flower leis, traditional songs and a kava ceremony with the chief. Then, follow your guide to the mud pools, used for their therapeutic properties for generations by Fijians. Rub the exfoliating thermal mud into your skin and then sip on refreshing chilled water as the sun dries the mud. Next, take a dip in the soothing hot thermal pools to rinse the mud away. Your skin will be left feeling smooth and refreshed. At the end, if time allows, check out the local handicrafts for sale.
Please Note:
For safety reasons, pregnant women and guests with high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, varicose veins, or mobility limitations may not participate on this excursion. This is a local tourism venture and facilities are rustic. Limited tourism development is part of the charm and authentic experience. Please bring local currency for any additional purchases. Due to the sulphur in the springs, swimsuits may be damaged or discolored. The tour involves a moderate amount of walking and there are some steps to be negotiated. Please wear comfortable, flat-soled shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy, clothing suited to the weather conditions, bring a hat, plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and fill your water bottle before leaving the ship.
