Visitors to the Bay of Islands love to venture through the Hole in the Rock -- a top New Zealand landmark accessible by boat. Today, you will experience the Hole in the Rock up close and on foot, landing on the rock by helicopter for a 15-minute visit.
A short transfer in Russell brings you to the helipad. A Bell Long Ranger helicopter takes you on a scenic flight over the Bay of Islands. Your pilot lands on the Hole in the Rock on a helipad built on the top of the island.
Learn about the island's history and its cultural and ecological significance. Very few people have ever ventured to the island in this way. Being surrounded by steep cliffs (over 450 feet tall) and stunning scenery looking towards Cape Brett and its surrounds, this landing location appeals to the adventurous.
Your return scenic flight features stunning island scenery and turquoise blue waters.
Please note: Tour operates weather permitting. Total flying time is 30 minutes. Minimum age is 10 years. Bring a light jacket or sweater.
