Discover the geology, history and wildlife of Magnetic Island, so named because it reputedly had a magnetic effect on Captain Cook's ship compass when he sailed past in 1770.
An exhilarating 20-minute fast-cat cruise across the clear blue waters of Cleveland Bay will bring you to the island. More than half of Magnetic Island is reserved as a National Park, and this has preserved the stunning scenery and natural habitats of koalas, possums and rock wallabies, as well as a variety of birds. Where the headlands meet the sea, secluded beaches have formed — many of which can only be reached on foot or by boat.
See the highlights of the island on a guided panoramic drive, stopping for photos along the way.
You'll encounter native wildlife on a guided ranger tour of Bungalow Bay Koala Village. Relax over afternoon tea, served in the alfresco dining area, before returning to the Nelly Bay Terminal for a transfer back to the ship.
Please note: The catamaran is not exclusive to Seabourn guests; it is a public ferry. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces and a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Tour timing and duration may vary due to public ferry timetables. There is no free time for swimming on this tour. Tour does not operate on holidays.
