Located on beautiful Waiheke Island, EcoZip offers nature-lovers, young and old, a state-of-the-art, dual zip-line and New Zealand native forest encounter. Transfer by private, air-conditioned mini-coach for 20 minutes. Along the way you will see some of the island's pretty beaches, olive groves, vineyards and multi-million-dollar properties.
Check in, gear up, and get ready for one of New Zealand's most exciting eco-activities. Three dual zip-lines, each more than 650 feet long, will fly you smoothly, side-by-side with a partner or friend, over the working vineyard and then over and into a stunning tract of original and regenerating native New Zealand bush (forest).
Expert guides are dedicated to ensuring your enjoyment and use of state-of-the-art technology, including the New Zealand-designed ZipStop automatic braking system. The zip-lines get progressively higher and faster as you go.
Once you reach the end of the last zipline, follow your guide on an interpretive walk shaded by a canopy of both regenerating and pre-European forest -- exchanging a bird's-eye forest view for the cool, sun-dappled, rainforest floor. The native forest is home to a diverse range of fauna and flora and the forest's ancient, stately trees are a treasure-trove of stories and legend. Your guide will share the Maori legend of the mother and father of the forest, and the other once-threatened, now thriving, endemic species.
Return to Matiatia Wharf and tender back to the ship.
