Set out from Matiatia Wharf on this guided tour of charming Waiheke Island. You will learn all about the history, geography, culture, people and produce of Waiheke.
Visit the spectacular Church Bay studio of Gabriella Lewenz, who works in vivid abstract oils followed by a visit to Sacred Blessing Sanctuary garden, located in Enclosure Bay on the northern side of Waiheke. It is a one acre garden surrounded on two sides by McKenzie Reserve, a twelve acre regenerating native reserve. The garden was established over ten years ago, however over the last two years it has been extensively remodelled to include hard landscaping from rock that is unique to Waiheke. Also added is a collection of Paul Dibble bronze sculptures.
Lunch today will be at one of the top wineries on the island. Sample local wines as you done upon a meal overlooking the scenery of one of New Zealand’s favorite getaway locations, marvel at the fact you are hardly an hours travel away from the heart of New Zealand’s largest city.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
