Welcome to Boston, where a chain of historic landmarks chronicle the fractious lead-up to and ultimate securing of American Independence. Revolutionary Boston centers around the Freedom Trail. This brilliant walking tour is a who's who of names and places that are instantly recognizable.
Stroll with your guide to see the Massachusetts State House, Park Street Church, and the Granary Burying Ground. The latter is the final resting place of many famous Americans, including John Hancock, Samuel Adams and Paul Revere.
Don't miss America's first public school and the country's oldest continuously-operating hotel. In the heart of Boston, see the Old South Meeting House, where angry colonists met on the eve of the Boston Tea Party and the course of history was set.
Near the circle of stones in front of the Old State House, you will hear the story of the Boston Massacre -- the first bloodshed of the Revolution. Passing Faneuil Hall, continue to the North End, home of Paul Revere and Boston's oldest surviving residential neighborhood.
Visit the Old North Church, where Paul Revere ordered lanterns hung in the steeple to signal that the British Redcoats were on the move -- "one if by land; two if by sea."
Your excursion ends at Faneuil Hall, housing the Quincy Market, followed by a transfer back to the ship. Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Tour requires walking approximately two miles. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations.
