Relax on a scenic drive through Portland, visit the oldest commissioned lighthouse in the United States, and feel the salty breeze on your face during a two-hour schooner sail on the Bagheera or Wendameen.
A scenic panoramic drive through the quaint, lantern-lined streets of Portland's Old Port district highlights old brick warehouses that have morphed into charming restaurants, pubs and galleries, and a gracious mix of other architectural styles.
Situated just outside the city center and along the beautiful rocky coast of Cape Elizabeth is Fort Williams -- once a military outpost for coastal defense and now the site of America's oldest lighthouse, the Portland Head Light. Hop aboard an authentic wooden schooner for a leisurely sail on Casco Bay. Join the crew as they hoist the sails, take the helm at the ship's wheel, or simply relax and enjoy the calm waters of Casco Bay's rugged coastline featuring lighthouses, seals, and seabirds. Under full sail, you will glide past Portland's bustling waterfront, secluded islands, historic forts and pretty buildings perched along the bay.
Please note: Tour sequence may vary. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. The schooner is not wheelchair accessible. Terrain includes a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Terrain includes five steps to (dis)embark the schooner. Dress warmly in layered clothing with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof.
