Embarking on this sea kayaking excursion, you’ll paddle through the tranquil waters of the fjord, surrounded by towering cliffs and dense forests, while catching glimpses of wildlife and feeling a deep connection to the pristine beauty of this remote wilderness sanctuary.
Travel from the pier in La Baie on a one-hour scenic drive to the Saguenay National Park Interpretive Center. A safety briefing and paddling instruction will be given before you board a stable, two-person kayak equipped with easy rudder control.
Now you're ready for a 1¼-hour paddle along Cape Trinity, next to sheer cliffs and sandy beaches. On the surface, the beauty of Saguenay Fjord is striking, but these waters also reveal glimpses of their depths that have long been thought unfathomable. If you're lucky you may encounter marine life, including lazy seals sunbathing on the rocks.
You will also have some free time back at the Interpretative Center to shop for souvenirs to remember your incredible excursion.
Please note: Transportation to the park is by school bus and is shared between all park activities. You will be given a full wetsuit, booties, and a life jacket. Please wear your swimsuit and bring an extra set of socks in case they get wet. Don’t forget to bring your camera, there are dry bags available for use.
