Explore the South Shore of Nova Scotia with a relaxing drive to the town of Lunenburg. This "prettiest town in Canada" is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Settled in the mid-1750s by Germans and Swiss, Lunenburg was once the world's busiest shipbuilding town and is the birthplace of the world-famous racing schooner Bluenose. Lunenburg is still a bustling fishing port, and its citizens retain one of the most interesting accents in North America. The town's distinctive architecture and extraordinary scenic beauty are a colorful reminder of Canada's maritime heritage.
Follow your guide on a short interpretive walk highlighting Lunenburg's significant seafaring history. Then, enjoy free time to explore, take in some folk art, and browse in the shops.
Not far away, Mahone Bay is famous for its three churches huddled in close proximity. Check out the antique stores and artisan boutiques and snap some photos before returning to the ship.
Please note: Lunch is not included. You will have time to purchase lunch at your own expense during the tour. Travel time is approximately 1½ hours each way. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation.
