Enjoy a guided walking tour along Shelburne's heritage waterfront, which retains one of the largest collections of original 18th, 19th, and early 20th century architecture still in use in North America today.
Shelburne is nestled on the third finest natural harbor in the world and was once the fourth largest community in North America with a population of more than 10,000.
In 1783, after the American Revolutionary War, over 5,000 United Empire Loyalists arrived in ships from the United States with their families and servants, settling in Shelburne. That time also saw the arrival of over 3,500 free Black Loyalists who settled in nearby Birchtown.
Experience the colorful history and old-world charm of Shelburne’s historic waterfront, which has also been the setting of many Hollywood film productions since the 1990s, including the feature The Scarlet Letter, starring Demi Moore and Robert Duvall.
At the conclusion of the tour, you’re invited to explore all three museums at the Shelburne’s Museums by the Sea complex with your admission.
