Begin with a panoramic drive, pausing at a local café for a coffee and pastry. You'll also have approximately 1 and 1/2 hours of free time to explore the beautiful surroundings in Baie-Saint-Paul, birthplace of the world-famous Cirque du Soleil.
Set on the northern shore of the St Lawrence River, Baie-Saint-Paul is filled with exciting culture and great food. Bistros, arts galleries, museums await you in this scenic Québecois destination. Breathe in this beautiful village's scenery, discover its artistic culture, and taste local delicacies (at your own expense).
It's all aboard on a journey to wide open spaces. From curling crests to rocky mountain faces, see big, far and differently on this scenic train ride between Quebec and Baie-Saint-Paul. After passing Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, travel on an otherwise-inaccessible route that unfurls across more than 60 miles. The Train de Charlevoix reveals all the poetry of the surreal landscape of the St Lawrence River and lush, verdant mountains. You will slow down for two key photo opportunities. The Petite-Rivière-Saint-François is located at the foot of the ski center and is a narrow strip of land running for more than four miles where the Rivière-du-Gouffre heads toward the Saint-Lawrence. The neo-Roman-style Shrine of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré draws more than 1.5 million pilgrims each year and is one of the most important Catholic sites in North America.
In Québec, you'll make a quick stop at the Montmorency Falls -- 1½ times as high as Niagara Falls with a 272-foot cliff of breathtaking views. Take in the powerful forces of natures as the Montmorency River roars down the cliff to eventually meet with the St Lawrence River.
Notes:
Depending on the arrival time at Montmorency Falls, the amount of free time will vary.
