Go beyond the ordinary and explore the paradise island of Bequia, with its unforgettable shorelines and vibrant culture. Here you’ll unveil a tapestry of delights, from the historical landmarks and natural wonders that make the Caribbean an unforgettable adventure.
Start the day by hopping into an open-top safari vehicle bound for Hamilton Fort. This 18th-century landmark is located on a stunning hilltop and consists of the ruins of old battle sites. Here you’ll learn about the historical events that shaped modern-day Bequia.
Next, head to the Bequia Turtle Sanctuary – a small enclosure filled with protected sea turtles and baby hatchlings. Brother King, famed owner of the sanctuary, offers a guided tour of the grounds.
Continue along to Mount Pleasant, the highest accessible point on the island, which is accessible only by way of a steep, mountainous road. From the top, enjoy panoramic views of the neighboring islands.
Back in Port Elizabeth, discover a bustling Caribbean town, where you will have free time to shop for local souvenirs and enjoy the culture before returning to the ship.
