Take part in a sensory and immersive excursion that includes relaxing on a tropical beach, appreciating history and culture, and taking in some beautiful natural landmarks. Your time today is something you will never forget.
Start the day with a panoramic drive through downtown Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you make your way through cobblestone streets past pastel-colored Dutch colonial buildings, you’ll learn plenty of facts about the area – perfect for history and culture lovers.
Next, you’ll drive out of the city to visit the magnificent Hato Caves, which are more than 200,000 years old and invite you to walk with your guide through a breathtaking display of stalagmites and stalactites. Your guide will tell you all about this subterranean wonder, filled with historical significance and fascinating formations.
Continue along to one of the island's most beautiful western beaches. Here, you will have some free time to relax on a beach chair, hang out at the beach bar or swim in the blue water of the Caribbean.
En route back to the ship you will pass the natural salt flats, where you might spot some wild flamingos.
Please note: The beach is secluded, natural and may be rocky in areas. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. There are many stairs at the Hato Caves. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
