Nestled along the coastline of St. John’s is the quaint village of Cruz Bay, where you’ll meet your ecology guide. From here your excursion begins with a visit to the National Park Visitor Center, which serves as a gateway to the island’s natural wonders. The center will provide you with a wealth of information and interactive exhibits that will invite you to explore the rich biodiversity, cultural heritage, and stunning landscapes preserved within this Caribbean jewel.
From here, set out on a hike through the lush tropical forest, which is known to be a truly experience. Along the way, learn about the vibrant trees and flowers, exotic wildlife and sea birds you encounter, along with the history of the ancient Taino Natives and the era of the planters. As the trail ascends, you’ll reach a magnificent overlook at an elevation of 160 feet. Further along, you will find breathtaking vistas of St. Thomas and the nearby British Virgin Islands.
Arriving at an idyllic, palm-fringed secluded beach, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters or simply relax in the shade of a coconut tree. After this pleasant break, resume your hike along the Lind Point trail to return to Cruz Bay and your tender pier.
Please note: Minimum age is 8 years. Guests should be in good physical condition. Total walking distance is approximately one mile; wear comfortable walking shoes. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen and a hat.
