Your tour begins as you board your transportation for a scenic drive through Port of Spain to the town of Maraval. En route, drive past the Magnificent Seven, a group of extravagant and eccentrically designed mansions lining the western side of the Queen's Park Savannah, built around the turn of the century. Upon arriving in Maraval, board a 4X4 vehicle and begin the drive up the mountain. You’ll witness a rich agricultural area where farmers grow herbs, spices, and vegetables, while marveling at panoramic views only accessible by 4WD vehicles.
Stop in Paramin, a quaint village nestled in the winding hills of Maraval, famous island-wide and among several other Caribbean islands for its seasonings. Its hills are also home to the country's authentic folk traditions and the very best in parang music. Tour the village and learn how the herbs are grown and prepared for market, while enjoying a complimentary snack and beverage. Next, board your 4x4 for the drive along the hilly north coast road, descending along the Maracas Royal Road toward the Maracas Lookout, where you'll stop for photos. Continue to Maracas Bay our turnaround stop and take a cool evening walk along the golden beach. After relaxing at the beach, your tour concludes with a drive to Maraval and a return trip back to the pier.
Notes: This tour does not go off-road. The 4X4 vehicles are required to ascend the sometimes steep and narrow mountain roads. This is NOT a self-drive 4x4 tour. Each car will have a driver/guide.
