Set out on a walk through Old San Juan. You'll visit Fort San Cristobal — the capstone of the San Juan fortification system, from which the Spaniards defended the Spanish Main. Explore the dungeon, where centuries-old graffiti depicts images of mighty Spanish galleons.
Take in views of the San Juan Bay, La Fortaleza (the Governor's Mansion), and the San Juan Cathedral. Walk through the San Juan Gate (Puerta de San Juan) and visit the Plazoleta La Rogativa. Dominating this small park area is a statue commemorating the near-sacking of San Juan by the British in the 16th century. Disaster was averted by a procession of women and children, led by the Bishop of San Juan, with torches in hand. The British fleet thought the torches were a sign of reinforcements arriving, and they fled.
Transfer to the airport, passing through the New San Juan area on the way.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. This tour is available only to guests whose cruise ends in San Juan, with domestic flights departing after 3pm and international flights departing after 4pm. Tips for the porters at the airport are included. The tour operates rain or shine, but may be cancelled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions.
