The lovely wife of Napoleon Bonaparte grew up right here in Martinique. Your outing introduces you to the island and to the life and times of Josephine, Empress of France.
From Trois Ilets, you will drive to the Pagerie Habitation, where Josephine lived the first sixteen years of her life. Her family owned this estate in 18th century, and a guided visit is your chance to learn all about this mysterious, and very influential, teenager before she rose to fame and fortune.
Heading inland, a panoramic drive brings you to the city of Le François on the east side of Martinique. Visit the Plantation House where George H. W. Bush and François Mitterand -- Presidents of United States and France respectively -- met in 1991. The house is beautifully decorated with authentic period furniture.
You will visit the sugar estate and see the rum distillery, and taste a little Martinique rum, before returning to Trois-Ilets.
