Hello foodies, and welcome to a day of dishing, dining and drinking the Martinique way. With stops at a world-renowned distillery, eats at a restaurant run by one of the finest chefs in Martinique, and great island scenery, it's a win-win-win proposition.
The Trois Rivières Distillery, set on verdant green rolling hills in southwestern Martinique, awaits. What better way to start the day than with a tot of traditional AOC rum? Decide for yourself how it stacks up with those you already know and love, and rest assured that everything about the experience is hyper-local — the surrounding sugarcane has been processed here only since 1660.
Next, you'll visit Prisca Restaurant — a great place to learn all about life in Martinique. The lifestyle of this island with native, Creole and French roots is inextricably bound to its cuisine. It's not just food — it's a mechanism for reaching out, connecting, laughing, living large, and being part of the community.
Make some traditional fritters under the tutelage of Chef Prisca Morjon. She'll show you which fresh, seasonal produce to use and share stories of life on the island on your journey through her kitchen.
Sampling French West Indian aperitifs makes the fritter-making process so much easier, and the final product is delicious.
Please note: The route is winding. Guests who are prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Minimum age is 12 years.
