Board an air-conditioned motorcoach at the pier. A short drive takes you southwest to the coastal village of Puerto del Carmen. Once a quiet fishing village, today it's a bustling center and resort town, surrounded by beautiful gardens of bougainvillea, plumeria, heliconia and other subtropical plants.
The coach drops you off near Playa Grande -- Puerto del Carmen's main beach. You'll have 3+ hours to discover this charming town on your own.
The city's five miles of beach have been awarded by the EEC for cleanliness, and the surrounding waters are considered some of the most tranquil in the Canary Islands. Between the main beach and the harbor sits Playa Chica -- a great place to snorkel and dive. For those seeking more action, there's jet-skiing and banana boat rides. Unwind on the beach and watch the waves roll in and out. Sports equipment, beach chairs and umbrellas are available (at your own expense) if you choose to spend the day at the beach.
Prefer to shop? Behind the beach is the main thoroughfare with a mile of busy shops, restaurants and bars.
When your fun day out comes to an end, return to the motorcoach and ride back to the ship.
Please note: Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen and a hat. Guide service, taxi transfers, entrance fees and lunch are not included in the transfer price. The tour is escorted but not guided; your escort will offer some information about the Playa Grande area and will advise you of the pick-up location and time. It will be your responsibility to be at the pick-up point at the given return time.
