One of the best ways to immerse yourself in a culture is with a local experience. This authentic, half-day adventure strolls down the historic streets of Taroudant and visits one of its bustling souks (markets.). Board a motorcoach and settle in for a 90-minute scenic motorcoach ride that journeys through the fertile Souss Valley, where you’ll stop to photograph endangered argan trees. Arrive at the ancient Berber town of Taroudant, nestled in the Souss Valley, a maze of narrow streets and Moorish architecture. Enjoy a well-deserved moment at a wonderful location and enjoy a refreshing beverage or why not a cup of authentic Moroccan tea, before starting the visit. The town is enveloped by three-and-a-half miles of walls punctuated by a number of arched gates. Feel the centuries unfold as you stroll to the Medina of Taroudant, the oldest part of the city, and the souk, a local marketplace showcasing a cornucopia of aromatic herbs and spices, textiles, ceramics, handicrafts and local delicacies.
Special Notes: To protect guests from the sun, sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat are recommended. It is recommended that guests bring a bottle of water from the ship, as temperatures during the day can be high. The order of sites visited may vary from the original itinerary, due to unforeseen circumstances. Guests are advised not to take photos of military personnel without their consent. The drive to Taroudant is approximately 90 minutes each way.
