Please Note: Tickets for any Alhambra tour are available on a request basis only. Bookings will initially be waitlisted until the individual Alhambra entrance ticket can be confirmed. As Alhambra entrance tickets are personalized and sold in advance, it is essential that your passport information is on file in your cruise booking when waitlisting for this tour. You must carry the same passport on the tour for entry to the Alhambra. Waitlisted bookings not associated with passport information will not be confirmed into an actual booking. Please note that cancellation fees apply at the moment of waitlisting, as a waitlist request prompts us to secure your ticket. If several Alhambra tours are available for your date of call, please waitlist for only one Alhambra tour option. Should you waitlist on multiple Alhambra tours for the same date and several tickets are purchased for you, please be aware that all tickets are non-refundable.
Rising above the modern lower town, the Alhambra and the Albaycín, situated on two adjacent hills, form the medieval part of Granada. To the east of the Alhambra fortress and residence are the magnificent gardens of the Generalife, the former rural residence of the emirs who ruled this part of Spain in the 13th and 14th centuries. The residential district of the Albaycín is a rich repository of Moorish vernacular architecture, into which the traditional Andalusian architecture blends harmoniously.
The Alhambra is composed of three parts -- the Alhambra Nasrid Royal Palace, the Generalife Gardens and the Fortress of Alcazaba. The Royal Palace was the opulent living quarters of the monarchs, while the Fortress of Alcazaba provided a range of lookout points to defend the Royal Palace. The gardens of Generalife, which surround the Royal Palace and fortress, are reputedly inspired by the Koranic description of Paradise. An expert guide will lead you on a guided tour of the Alhambra Nasrid Royal Palace.
Enjoy lunch at a restaurant situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range before returning to Málaga and the ship.
