Join an expedition to the Palace of King Knossos -- once the religious and administrative center of the Minoan world. You'll travel from Agios Nikolaos across the island to Heraklion to visit this renowned archaeological site.
Explore the labyrinth built to confine the fabled Minotaur, born out of the unnatural union between King Minos' queen and a bull. Legend holds that the king fed his enemies to this mythological monster until the labyrinth's secret was finally unraveled. Your guided tour takes you through the ruins of the palace complex, now excavated and partially reconstructed to give a better understanding of the complex labyrinth. You will visit the living quarters of the king and queen, the storerooms, potters' workshops and the theater.
Later, enjoy a brief stop at the main square in Heraklion before returning to the pier.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
