A minivan transfer brings you to central Athens. You will pass highlights such as the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Traffic permitting, a photo stop is included.
View the Parliament Building and the most significant buildings dating back to the neo-Classical period -- the University, the National Academy and the Library -- from the comfort of your vehicle. From a special viewpoint, you will admire the famous Acropolis and its Parthenon from below.
Continue to the most impressive viewpoint in Athens -- Lycabettus Hill. The highest point in the city, it offers a prime opportunity to marvel at the entire city, the seaside and the Acropolis from above. A funicular ride brings you to the top, where you are treated to a coffee and an amazing vista.
After some wind-down time, you'll hop back into the funicular, descend to the bottom of the hill, and head back to the port of Piraeus.
Please note: There are approximately 120 steps and uneven ground to negotiate. The funicular line runs through a tunnel; therefore, it is not recommended for passengers who suffer from claustrophobia. Passengers wishing to climb to the top of the hill where St. George Chapel is located will have to negotiate approximately 60 steps. There may be a short walk from the drop-off point to the entrance of the funicular due to the narrow streets. The width of the road and current road works do not allow the use of a large bus, nor reach the area near the top of the Mount Lycabettus funicular. For this reason, the minivan is forced to park at a distance from the entrance to the funicular, and guests walk about 200 yards to reach the entrance and two extra flights of stairs.
