A minivan transfer brings you to central Athens. You will pass highlights such as the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium, which was built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Traffic permitting, a photo stop is included.
View the Parliament Building and the most significant buildings dating back to the neo-Classical period — the University, the National Academy and the Library — from the comfort of your vehicle. From a special viewpoint, you will admire the famous Acropolis and its Parthenon from below.
Continue to the most impressive viewpoint in Athens — Lycabettus Hill. The highest point in the city, it offers a prime opportunity to marvel at the entire city, the seaside and the Acropolis from above. A funicular ride brings you to the top, where you are treated to a coffee and an amazing vista.
After some wind-down time, you'll hop back into the funicular, descend to the bottom of the hill, and head back to the port of Piraeus.
Please note: Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, gravel, grass, and more than 120 steps. The additional climb to St George's Chapel includes approximately 60 steps. The coach may be required to park some distance from the funicular; a minivan transfer may be provided, but a short walk (about 200 yards) will still be necessary, along with two additional flights of stairs. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. The funicular line runs through a tunnel; not advisable for those with claustrophobia.
