Discover the secrets of the world-famous sherry produced in the province of Cádiz. The climate of Puerto de Santa Maria is so different from anywhere else in Andalusia that it is possible to cultivate the grapes that produce the three main sherry varieties.
Leaving the city, you'll drive to the town of Puerto de Santa Maria, located 25 minutes from Cádiz. During the drive, you will see the landscape change from coastal drylands to the fertile, cultivated vineyards in all Cadiz Bay.
Upon arrival in Puerto de Santa Maria, walk through the narrow, winding streets to see the charming highlights of the town. You will also visit the award-winning cellars of Bodega Osborne Cellars, built in the 19th century and located in the historic district of Cadiz Area. This is the only cellar that is committed exclusively to the production of the oldest sherries that are qualified by the Regulatory Board. A cellar expert will take you on a tour of the property, explaining the process of creating sherry from the grape cultivation to bottling. Seabourn has arranged an exclusive tasting of the different sherries, paired with some local gastronomic delicacies.
Enjoy a gourmet journey through Spanish history and art in the outstanding small art gallery.
Eventually, it's time to re-board the motorcoach for the scenic drive back to Cádiz and the pier.
Please note: The cathedral is closed to group visits on Mondays; your guide will explain the cathedral's features outside and you can then enter on your own to view the interior independently.
