Depart from the pier via a jeep with your English speaking driver to head to the WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) Nature Reserve of Monte Arcosu. En route a stop will be made at Santa Gilla's pods to admire the flamingos and other different birds. From there, we will proceed to the Monte Arcosu, a natural reserve that belongs to WWF Italy which bought it in order to preserve the splendid holm-oak forests present in this territory. Inside the reserve, lonely valleys and rocky ridges host the Sardinia deer a species protected from extinction. Guests will have the possibility to walk through paths enriched by the beautiful and fragrant Mediterranean vegetation with a chance to see the Sardinian deer, fallow deer, boar, hare, wild cat and other species, such as partridge and golden eagle. At the end of this easy and short trek, you will enjoy a snack made of Sardinian products.
Please note: Wildlife sightings, although common, are not guaranteed. Wear trekking or sturdy shoes, head cover, sunblock and sunglasses. Not recommended for guests with back or neck problems, or pregnant women. The terrain is rough and uneven.
