Learn the secrets of preparing a variety of Moroccan specialties during this memorable cooking demonstration and lunch at Umayya Restaurant.
Depart the pier for the scenic 30-minute panoramic drive along the Corniche -- the road that leads along the Atlantic Ocean en route to Anfa. You'll pause for photos at the iconic Hassan II Mosque.
Anfa is an elegant residential district perched on a hill overlooking the city of Casablanca. Broad avenues, green parks and magnificent villas in a variety of architectural styles adorn this area.
Your first stop is at the bustling Central Market, home to a cavalcade of color, charm, street musicians, a fish market, charming handicrafts, and spices.
Next, you will head to Umayya. Refreshments and pastries await you upon your arrival at a local restaurant. An informative cooking demonstration follows, where you will learn about the spices and methods used in the creation of a variety of Moroccan entrées and desserts. Afterwards, lunch features the dishes you have seen made.
Your tour ends with a 30-minute drive back to the pier.
Please note: Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Some dishes must be prepared ahead of time -- the class is for demonstration only and the menu varies. Wear comfortable shoes. Bring a hat, wear sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear modest clothing; bring a bottle of water from the ship. Do not take photos of military personnel without their consent. Mind your belongings at all times, particularly at the market.
