Drive to the medieval city of Betanzos and set off on a guided walking tour through its narrow streets, admiring traditional houses.
Climb to the top of the hill and the Church of San Francisco. Dating from the 14th century, this Gothic church is home to the tomb of Fernan Perez de Andrade, a medieval knight whose coffin is decorated with the figures of a boar and a bear, his coat of arms.
Pazo de Mariñan is an old Galician Manor. Visit its splendid French-style gardens featuring the oldest eucalyptus in Galicia, brought from Australia in the 18th century.
Head to a local restaurant for a tasting of traditional tapas paired with a variety of local wines .
