Experience the cultural riches of the Genoese republic on a guided walking tour along the famed Via Garibaldi.
Your first stop is the Palazzo Rosso -- one of the city's most important galleries. It contains important works of 17th- and 18th-century Genoese painters, including Van Dyck and Rubens.
Next up is the Palazzo Bianco, which houses Italian masterpieces and Spanish and Flemish works of art. The palace is embellished with manicured grounds, courtyards, and terraces, and it hosts the ruins of the San Francesco di Castelletto Church.
Then, it's on to the Palazzo Doria-Tursi -- the most opulent residence built during the Genoese heyday. The building's façade is notable for its use of multiple exterior materials and colors and the beautiful tapestries, antiques, and ceramics found inside. Fascinatingly, letters signed by Christopher Columbus are also on display.
Finally, stroll over to the San lorenzo Cathedral before some free time for independent sightseeing and shopping.
