Isla El Hierro
"El Hierro is a volcanic island which is the youngest and smallest of the whole Canary Archipelago. Situated in the Macaronesian biogeographical region, the island's vegetation is composed of coastal matorral, thermophilous juniper forest, evergreen woodlands and pine forest, as well as marine and coastal habitats. El Hierro has a great biological diversity, not only at the ecosystem level, but also at the species level."
Discover El Hierro, a true paradise.
Set out from the pier towards the Gorona del Viento viewpoint.
Just north of El Pinar, at the Mirador de las Playas, clear skies afford an impressive view of the entire bay from an elevation of 3,280 feet.
Visit the village of El Pinar on the southern border of a large conifer forest. The village inhabitants are mostly farmers and livestock breeders.
Learn about the 100-million-year geological history of El Hierro as you view volcanic formations.
At the fishing village of La Restinga, enjoy a delicious lunch with some traditional wine.
On the way back to the pier, you'll stop at the Mirador de Jinama and Mirador de La Peña viewpoints, both designed by famous Lanzarote-born artist César Manrique.
Snap some photos at the Mirador de las Pernadas before returning to the pier.
