A panoramic drive across the Galata Bridge brings you to the Chora Museum -- one of the most beautiful Byzantine churches in Istanbul. The frescoes and mosaics here are part of the magnificent heritage of Byzantine art left by the Romans.
Visit the Rustem Pasha Mosque, an early example Ottoman architecture. The vivid colors and floral or geometric designs of the Iznik tiles are quite stunning.
At the Spice Bazaar, sample some Turkish delight -- the ubiquitous local candy that melts in your mouth. The vendors at this vast market offer all the spices of the East, including cardamom, turmeric, saffron and rosewater.
Walk back to the coach and relax on the drive back to port.
Please note: This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Istanbul. Expect dense traffic conditions in Istanbul. Modest attire is required; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered, and shoes must be removed to enter mosque(s). Shoe bags are provided. Women must cover their head with a scarf, which will be provided at the mosque. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair.
