As you tender ashore to the port of Athinios, you will be captivated by the hues of deep blue in the sea and by the view of Santorini ahead.
Enjoy a scenic ascent by road via the colorful rocky sides of the caldera, affording a spectacular panorama of the island. The route to Thira, the picturesque capital of Santorini perched on the volcano's caldera, passes through many other traditional villages as well. Explore on your own with a walk through the village along the cobblestone streets. Wonderful panoramic views and traditional architecture accompany you. You will have time to browse in the tiny shops selling ceramics, paintings and jewelry.
At the designated time, board the bus for the transfer back to Athinios port, where a tender will take you back to the ship. Guests who wish to stay in town longer are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
Please note: This tour is ideal for those guests who wish to avoid lines at the cable car and the steep walk to the cable car station, as it includes a roundtrip coach transfer between Athinios port and Thira.
