From antiquity to today, the land below the mountains of Falakro, Meniko and Pangeon has been a prime spot for winemaking. For this reason, Kavala was also one of the most important centers of Dionysus (Bacchus) worship.
Over the past two decades, the wine appellation Protected Geographical Origin (PGI) awarded to this area has made it one of the hotbeds of viticultural innovation in Greece.
Indulge in this viticultural experience as you visit two of the country's most renowned wineries. Wine tasting here is, without a doubt, an enchanting process requiring you to engage your senses of sight, smell and taste. Visit Domaine Costa Lazaridi and Chateau Niko Lazaridi to tour the facilities, learn about the vinification process, and taste the wines.
Please note: Bring local currency, as some vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. You are welcome to bring any tour-related alcohol purchases (beer, wine, spirits) back to the ship
