"The Aeolian Islands provide an outstanding record of volcanic island-building and destruction, and ongoing volcanic phenomena. Studied since at least the 18th century, the islands have provided the science of vulcanology with examples of two types of eruption (Vulcanian and Strombolian) and thus have featured prominently in the education of geologists for more than 200 years. The site continues to enrich the field of vulcanology." .
You will walk about a half mile to board your coach for a panoramic drive, passing through the villages of Pianoconte and Quattropani.
Take advantage of some photo stops along the way, especially at the viewpoint in Quattrocchi.
Please note: Tour requires an approximately 20- to 30-minute leisurely walk along the main street to reach the coach. Wear comfortable walking shoes. You will be escorted by the tour guide approximately 800m to reach the tour buses once you arrive at the pier by tender.
