Head off the beaten track to explore the Troodos Mountains by 4x4 vehicle.
The road takes you through the Pitsilia area, winding uphill as it follows the gorge. The slopes are covered with olives and carob trees, finally giving way to tranquil pine forests.
Turning off-road, heading along dirt tracks to Ayios Mamas village. Take in the great views as you cross a small stream, pass fruit orchards and a stone quarry, stopping to see the waterfalls at Mesa Potamos.
Climbing higher, you'll reach the mountain resort of Platres. Take a seat on the terrace of a hotel and enjoy refreshments.
In Omodos village, you emerge into the island's grape producing area. Stroll about the cobblestone square to get a feel for a Cypriot village.
On a slope facing Afamis Mountain is little Linos Winery. The owners of this family business share how their wine is made, inviting you to taste their wine accompanied by some local delicacies .
Please note: Ride will be bumpy; not suitable for guests with back or neck conditions, or for pregnant women. Maximum weight is 264 lbs (120 kg) per person. Dress in layers with a warm jacket as it can be cool at higher elevations. Wear sturdy closed-toe walking shoes (mandatory). Terrain includes cobblestones and inclines. Seating is up to seven guests per vehicle, with some seats facing sideways. This is not a self-drive tour.
