Located between the municipalities of Santa Brígida, Telde and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Bandama caldera forms a circular route that extends through the ravines of Las Goteras towards the coast. With a depth of 216 meters, a diameter of around 1,100 meters and a perimeter of more than 3 kilometers, this caldera invites you to walk around it or descend into it. It is known that the origin of this boiler is relatively recent and the name "Bandama" comes from Daniel Van Damme, an important Flemish merchant who was the first to explore the interior of the caldera, where he cultivated different types of vineyards.
After enjoying this beautiful landscape, continue to Vegueta for a walking tour, an area of culture and leisure. With historic buildings, a Cathedral, a Museum, the Town Hall and the Atlantic Center of Modern Art and the old quarter of the city extends to the Market, built in 1856. There is a wide range of urban walks through cobblestone streets and picturesque corners. Feel the historical flavor and admire artistic styles such as late Gothic and Renaissance. At the end of your walking tour, enjoy local tapas before driving back to the ship.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
