Lace up your walking shoes for this adventurous and memorable day, exploring one of the most ancient and charming villages along the French Riviera, the fortified settlement of Eze.
The tour begins with a stunning motorcoach ride on an unforgettable twisting route through the countryside with great views of the coastline en route to the village known as the 'eagle's nest' because of its location perched 1,400 feet above sea level.
Upon arrival in Eze, you will have the opportunity to walk to the top of the hill and explore the 12th century castle, battlements and gardens. This uphill hike is not for the faint-hearted but when you reach the top, the views are breathtaking, and you will quickly understand why Eze is a bucket list destination for people across the globe.
Take time to stroll through the battlements and be sure not to miss the botanical gardens, famous for their impressive collection of cactus and succulents.
Then it's time to wander back down the narrow cobbled streets dotted with old stone houses where you will have some free time for shopping, grabbing a refreshment, or continuing your exploration of the village. There are many art galleries that are worth visiting and there will also be time for you to visit the Galimard Perfume Factory, which is located just outside the village.
Following your time in this delightful village, reboard your coach to return to the pier.
Please note: Participants must negotiate stairs and/or uneven surfaces and is therefore not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
