Departing from the pier, enjoy a scenic 75-minute motorcoach drive through Istria, the most visited area in Croatia en route to the town of Labin. From your window, enjoy views of medieval villages nestled in rolling hills and olive groves.
Labin is perched on a hilltop overlooking the sea. Enter the charming old town through the main gate to the picturesque town square to begin your walking tour. Wander the labyrinth of steep streets and cobbled alleyways marveling at the beautiful examples of baroque, Renaissance and Gothic architecture, the taffy-colored homes, and Venetian-inspired palaces and churches. During the tour enjoy stunning views of the port town of Rabac, once a tiny fishing village.
Visit the exquisite Labin National Museum, housed in a baroque palace and featuring displays highlighting the importance of mining in the town’s history, including a replica of a mining shaft. Learn the meaning of the "Labin Republic" as depicted in interactive maps and photographs that trace the development of the town through the ages to the present.
Continue to Gallery Negri where William and Anessa Negri have been producing international award-winning olive oils since 2001. Pair canapés and a glass of wine while you sample the internationally revered olive oil from the Negri family at their beautiful gallery, nestled in a 17th-century palace festooned with artwork and lush décor.
Enjoy some free time in the old town to explore on your own before returning to the pier.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Participants must negotiate stairs and/or uneven surfaces and is therefore not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. This is a tour visiting the town of Labin; no inside visits to any artist workshops or any artist encounters are part of this tour. Even though artists are in town all year round, it cannot be guaranteed that guests will meet or see any artists at work.
