Catch a glimpse of Fuerteventura's special multi-faceted charm on this island tour.
At the Aloe Vera Plantation, learn all about the succulent lily plant that is widely used in the cosmetic industry. Aloe vera is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and amino acids. Canarian farmers knew this long before aloe became a household word in North America. You will have the opportunity to buy aloe products for everything from sunburn relief to scalp and hair products, wrinkle serums, psoriasis treatments, acne, stretch marks, tired legs and body massage gels.
Proceed towards the former colonial capital of Betancuria, named after the conqueror of Fuerteventura, John de Bethencourt. Walk through the town and visit the Casa Santa Maria -- a restored Canarian house. This museum has various areas to discover, including exhibits about the island's volcanic origins, and its flora and fauna.
Learn about Majorera goats and their famous cheese and try the local goat cheese or rum with honey.
The museum is also home to the original Antigua Windmill, still in perfect working condition.
Don't miss the cactus garden -- a green treasure with endemic species as well as other cacti from all over the world. Throughout the day, your guide shares interesting facts, figures and historical legends bringing the island to life.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
