Rhodes is known for its traditional pottery and ceramics -- the most common artifact found on ancient archaeological sites. Clay bricks from Rhodes were used to build the dome of Constantinople’s St Sofia Byzantine church.
Dimitris Bonis of Bonis Ceramics holds on to the traditions started by its founder, his father, in 1969. Today, Dimitris and his son Manolis introduce you to the techniques of making pottery step by step. In the workshop, admire and discuss a variety of creations. A small snack and ouzo are served.
Next, Dimitris throws clay on a traditional side wheel and actively supports each guest to make at least one ceramic piece using the wheel. Your creation will be completed and shipped to your home address.
