Your tour begins with a drive toward the old colonial capital of La Laguna, situated in the Aguere Valley amid beautiful surroundings. From La Laguna, the route turns along the base of the mountain range, through the Esperanza pine forest and foothills to Cañadas del Teide National Park.
You'll stop at Papillon Restaurant for refreshments before heading into the heart of the park. Cañadas del Teide includes an enormous volcanic crater, which has been dormant since 1909 and is more than 29 miles in circumference. At 12,270 feet, Mount Teide is the tallest mountain in all of Spanish territory. Take in the views of this impressive peak and the surrounding arid landscape in the crater, which is often said to resemble a moonscape.
Enjoy some free time at Roques Garcia before boarding the coach for the return journey. En route back to the ship, you'll stop often for photographs, allowing you to appreciate the breathtaking scenery.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a warm jacket. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Not advisable for guests with a respiratory condition. Tour does not operate on Mondays.
