Explore at your own pace with a private vehicle, driver, and English-speaking guide at your service. With your private vehicle and the personalized attention of your driver and English-speaking guide, you will have the flexibility and independence to take in the sights at your own pace.
Begin your day with a transfer from the pier to Cape Spartel, a promontory on the Strait of Gibraltar. From an elevation of 1,000 feet, you'll have panoramic views out over the water and the lighthouse perched on the end of the cape.
Back in the van, an hour's scenic drive brings you to the town of Azilah on the northwestern tip of Morocco's Atlantic coast. Azilah began as a trading port for the Phoenicians in 1500 BC and has changed hands several times since then. The resulting mix of architecture, art and culture makes it a fantastic spot not to be missed.
You will have time to purchase lunch (at your own expense).
This afternoon, discover the medina (Old Town) of Tangier, where you will set out on a comprehensive guided walk through one of the city's most historic and architecturally interesting areas. The kasbah (fort) was once the traditional residence of the sultan and his harem but is now one of Tangier's most fashionable residential quarters. Climb the hill on which the kasbah is situated as your guide points out important buildings and the best photo spots. As you reach the top, you'll find yourself in an area that is essentially unchanged since Roman times. Visit the newly renovated Kasbah Museum to admire its traditional courtyard and the large mosaic artworks.
Winding your way back down the hill, you'll end up in one of Tangier's most colorful and lively markets -- the Grand Socco (souk). Take in the sights, sounds and scents as you navigate the hustle and bustle with your guide. Pause for refreshments of Moroccan mint tea and pastries en route back to the ship.
Capacity: 4 guests. Your private party may be of any size up to the maximum capacity.
Please Note: Private vehicles are ordered per vehicle (not per person), so only one person in the party needs to order the vehicle. The price shown is the total cost for the vehicle, driver, and English-speaking guide and applicable entrance fees. Bring local currency or credit cards for drinks, meals, or incidentals. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a head covering. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses, wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Do not take photos of military personnel without first obtaining consent. Always mind your belongings, particularly at points of interest or crowded places. On Tuesdays, the visit to the Kasbah Museum will be replaced with the American Legation.
