Welcome to Sibenik, full of labyrinthine streets lined with Gothic and Renaissance architecture on the Adriatic Sea.
A short walk from the pier takes you down the Vodice promenade to board your coach.
You’ll reach the Bridge of Sibenik by way of a panoramic drive. Stop here for beautiful photos of Sibenik and the surrounding area.
In the center of Sibenik (pronounced she-ben-eek), leave the coach for a guided walking tour. Follow your friendly and knowledgeable guide as (s)he leads you along the winding streets of this charming town – the oldest native Croatian town on the eastern shores of the Adriatic.
As you stroll through the Old Town, you'll hear all about the interesting history of the city. Visit the Gothic Church of St. Francis, which dates to the 14th century and features richly carved ceilings and altars. You'll also pass the Church of St. John and the Sibenik Theatre. The latter was built in 1870 and was the largest in the country at that time.
Continue past the 16th-century Town Hall and the former Duke's Palace, which is now the Sibenik City Museum.
Then step inside the magnificent St. James' Cathedral – one of the most original architectural projects of the late Middle Ages. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After the walking tour, enjoy some free time to explore on your own before rejoining your guide for the transfer back to the pier in Vodice.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
