A short walk from the pier takes you down the Vodice promenade to board your coach. You'll reach the Bridge of Sibenik by way of a panoramic drive. Stop here for beautiful photos of Sibenik and the surrounding area.
In the center of Sibenik (pronounced she-ben-eek), leave the coach for a guided walking tour. Follow your knowledgeable guide along the winding streets of this charming town -- the oldest native Croatian town on the eastern shores of the Adriatic.
As you stroll through the Old Town, you'll hear all about the interesting history of the city. Visit the Gothic Church of St Francis, which dates to the 14th century and features richly carved ceilings and altars. You'll also pass the Church of St John and the Sibenik Theatre. The latter was built in 1870 and was the largest in the country at that time.
Continue past the 16th-century Town Hall and the former Duke's Palace, which is now the Sibenik City Museum.
Step inside the magnificent St James' Cathedral -- one of the most original architectural projects of the late Middle Ages and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Enjoy some free time to explore on your own before the transfer back to the pier in Vodice. Please note: Tour requires one hour of walking. Terrain includes uneven surfaces, inclines, and some steps. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Modest attire is required; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered. Shorts and short skirts are not allowed. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
