Indulge your senses with the exquisite flavors of Valencia. Paella and wine are probably the two main attributes of Spain - take this is opportunity to learn how to combine the two by having a specialist in the rice sector and a sommelier explain their details and importance.
Depart from the pier for a scenic, approximate 25-minute drive to a typical Valencian restaurant, a converted traditional Valencian house over 100 years old. On arrival, you will be greeted by your chef who will be preparing your paella, and your sommelier, who will assist in pairing wines to accompany your paella.
Paella is still cooked on a wood fire using orange wood, which is the original and traditional way to cook this dish. During the cooking demonstration, learn about the type of rice grown for paella and important tips for preparing this popular Spanish dish. See how the rice is prepared and the proper method for cooking la paella Valencia style!
You will dine on three different types of paella that you have participated in preparing. A sommelier will conduct a wine tasting on the best wines to accompany these paellas. At the conclusion of this excursion, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 25-minute drive back to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking for approximately 380 yards (about 400 metres), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and a few steps at the venue. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilize a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended.
