Nestled on the coast of Montenegro, beautiful Kotor showcases exceptional medieval architecture within its Venetian stone walls.

One of the best ways to get to know the local culture is through its food. Eat like a local on this delicious introduction to regional delicacies with a hands-on, chef-led cooking presentation.

Begin at the marketplace, where colorful stalls are laden with cheeses, fish and locally-pressed olive oil, as well as a rainbow of fruits, vegetables and wildflowers -- a paradise for foodies. Traders are quick to offer samples of sir -- a smoked cheese studded with nuts -- and pršut (smoke-dried ham).

Enter the private home of a chef to appreciate the romantic and rustic charms of his/her kitchen. (S)he will introduce you to local life and cuisine, with many opportunities to taste and savor before you sit down to a delicious lunch. Montenegro's cuisine varies geographically with the mountain and coastal areas, but generally reflects a traditional Mediterranean style with plenty of fresh seafood, fragrant herbs and fine olive oil.

Your host offers a beverage and helps you to feel right at home as the (s)he prepares regional favorites and imparts the culinary history of the region. The distinctive flavors of Central Europe and Byzantium meld with the classic tastes of the Mediterranean

Return to port at the conclusion of this delicious day.

Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
