For centuries, Amsterdam has been revered as a great Fine Arts center, and is today renowned for its celebrated museums. This outing introduces you to two of Amsterdam's very best museums in a suitably brief amount of time.
A short motorcoach transfer delivers you first to the Rijksmuseum, located at Museum Square. It features more than 8,000 objects on display -- among its treasures are masterpieces by Rembrandt, Frans Hals and Johannes Vermeer.
Across Museum Square, you will find the Van Gogh Museum, containing the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings in the world. Follow the artist's development through sequential time periods, where his work is clearly influenced by external events and internal emotions. You can compare his works to those of other 19th-century painters. The Van Gogh Museum also houses exhibits on various subjects from 19th-century art history.
Filled with a greater knowledge of Holland's masters, you will return to the pier by coach.
Please note: Wear comfortable shoes. Tour does not operate on holidays. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. The Van Gogh Museum has many steps. Elevators are available, but often are out of order. Use of cameras and video cameras is not allowed inside the museums.
