Travel from the city of Arendal up the main road to the village of Nesgrenda. This is where you'll find the Næs Ironwork Museum. The museum consists of buildings, machinery and equipment that date back to the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries -- almost completely intact and preserved in an idyllic atmosphere. Take a guided walk through the museum to examine its exhibits and artifacts.
Then, relax over coffee and a typical local pastry called a munker.
You'll head down to the Tvedestrand town center for a walk through this picturesque village. A must-see along the way is Norway's narrowest house.
The drive back to Arendal is along the North Sea Route -- a scenic road with fantastic views to the coastline and the ocean.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
