Belfast is a city of industry and elegance and boasts a rich and varied past. Its origins go back to an ancient fort controlling the ford across the River Lagan. From the coach you will see the Grand Opera House and the Albert Memorial before passing Queen's University and the Botanic Gardens. You will drive past Belfast City Hall; the most noteworthy of the statues in the grounds is the marble figure of Thane on a granite pedestal, sculpted by Sir Thomas Brock. It commemorates the sinking in 1912 of the ill-fated Belfast built liner R.M.S. Titanic.

Step indoors at Titanic Belfast for the Titanic Experience, developed to commemorate the sinking of the liner. Located in the heart of Belfast, the facility sits right beside the site of Titanic's construction and is housed in an iconic, six-floor building. This state-of-the-art visitor experience tells the story of the Titanic, from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her famous maiden voyage, tragic end, and subsequent place in history. The adventure begins the moment you walk through the door and into the building's giant atrium surrounded by the four hull-shaped halls, which collectively exhibit the Titanic Experience. As you journey through the nine large galleries, you will uncover the true story of Titanic and take a virtual voyage to the bottom of the sea in the Ocean Exploration Centre, with live links to contemporary undersea exploration.

A short amount of free time allows you to enjoy the views over the slipways where the Titanic was launched. You may prefer to relax in one of the on-site restaurants (at your own expense).

Browse for souvenirs in the Titanic Store before re-joining the coach for the transfer back to the ship.

Please note: You will be on your feet for up to two hours at the Titanic Experience. Wear comfortable walking shoes. There are six floors; elevators are available. Dress in warm, layered clothing.
